Welcome to the Mitchell County Conservation Board! Established in 1956, we’re passionate about promoting the health and welfare of our community. With over 3000 acres of public lands under our care, we offer a wide range of exciting projects and programs.
From establishing wildlife habitats to providing educational experiences in environmental conservation, we strive to create a thriving ecosystem. Our public parks and recreation areas are perfect for hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, boating, biking, skiing, horseback riding, and nature study.
But that’s not all – we’re also committed to reducing waste and encouraging recycling. Our active management of the Mitchell County Recycling Center helps minimize the materials sent to the landfill.
